Aggravated Kidnapping Arrest

agg kidnapping

On 9/30/2014 around 0730 hrs Officers from Burkburnett Police Department attempted to stop a small black pickup for making an illegal u-turn. The vehicle fled and Officers pursued into Wichita Falls. The vehicle became disabled after cutting across the median at I44 and Spur 325.  Wichita Falls Police arrived on scene to assist. The driver was identified as Jose Armando Lara and was arrested for Evading Arrest in a Vehicle. The passenger, an adult male, then advised Officers that he was approached by Lara while in the McDonald’s parking lot on Holliday around 0700 hrs.  He stated that Lara displayed a handgun and forced him to move to the passenger seat and he took control of the vehicle.  The victim stated that Lara drove to Burkburnett and then turned around to come back to Wichita Falls when he was observed by Burkburnett PD. Lara was charged with numerous offenses by BPD and after an investigation Lara was served with a warrant, while still in jail, by WFPD for Aggravated Kidnapping with a $1,000,000 bond. Good team work between BPD and WFPD.
