On Wednesday, March 28th, at approximately 9:30 pm officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a red 2012 Chevrolet Cruze in the 700 block of Bonner. The vehicle was occupied by the driver who was identified as 32 year old Ryan Kiggan and the front passenger as 30 year old Amanda Kiggan.
Officers observed that Amanda had something in her hand. When asked what it was she opened her hand to reveal five pills that were later identified as Adderall. When asked if she had a prescription for the pills she stated that she did not. Amanda told officers that Ryan was her husband and that they have two children together. She went on to state that they left their two children, a seven year old female and a one year old male, alone at their residence in the 4200 block of Seabury while they drove to an address to purchase the Adderall.
Officers responded to the Kiggan’s address and found both the seven year old female and the one year old male inside the apartment sleeping alone. CPS was contacted and the children were released to family.
Both Amanda and Ryan were arrested and transported to the Wichita County jail without incident where they were charged with two counts of abandoning or endangering a child. Amanda was also charged with possession of a substance in penalty group two.
