On July 16th at approximately 6:45 pm officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department were dispatched to the 400 block of Austin in reference to a disturbance. While in route to the call officers were advised that a Hispanic male wearing a yellow shirt and jeans was attempting to stab another Hispanic male.
Upon arrival officers located a subject matching the suspect description. He was detained and identified as 58 year old Carlos Lopez. When officers asked if he had a knife with him he told them that he had a box knife. Officers located a gray handled box cutter in Lopez’ pocket.
Officers then made contact with the victim who stated that he was in the process of moving from one apartment to another when he was approached by Lopez who had a gray handled box cutter with the blade open in his hand and made threats to cut him.
Lopez was arrested and transported to the Wichita County jail where he was charged with aggravated assault.
