WFPD Arrest Suspect on Ten Counts of Burglary of a Vehicle

arrested2On June 1st at approximately 7:00 am officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department were dispatched to the 1600 block of 32nd to the Woodview Apartments in reference to multiple burglarized vehicles where various items were stolen to include a firearm, stereo equipment, tools and cash.

While officers were on scene investigating, the suspect in the burglaries, 20 year old Brayden Sims, returned to the property at which time witnesses alerted officers.  Officers located Sims next to his truck, a black 2000 Chevrolet 1500.  Sims was detained and witnesses on scene identified him as the suspect in the burglaries.

Sims was found to be in possession of a gun holster that was stolen from one of the vehicles.  While officers conducted a search of his vehicle they also located a clear bag with a green leafy substance in the center arm rest.  The substance field tested positive for marijuana.  It weighed .38 ounces.

The stolen items were recovered to include the handgun and Sims was transported to the Wichita County jail without incident where he was charged with ten counts of burglary of a vehicle, possession of marijuana and theft of a firearm.
