On Thursday, February 23, at approximately 10:50 pm officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department observed a white 2014 Chevrolet Sonic drive through the blinking red light at the intersection of Lamar Street and 6th Street failing to come to a complete stop. Officers stopped the vehicle in the alley behind the 600 block of Scott Avenue.
Officers identified the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle as 61 year old Victor Saied. Saied appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. Saied gave officers consent to search his vehicle at which time officers located in plain view a plastic bag containing a white crystalized substance. After further search of the vehicle officers located a second plastic bag containing a white crystalized substance, as well as a white rock like substance. The crystalized substance was tested and rendered a positive result for methamphetamine. The rock like substance was also tested and rendered a positive result for cocaine.
Saied was placed in custody and transported to the Wichita County jail without incident where he was charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group one over four grams and possession of a controlled substance in penalty group one under one gram. Both charges were enhanced due to the fact that Saied was within 1000 feet of a day care which is a drug free zone.
The methamphetamine weighed 18.8 grams and the cocaine weighed .3 grams.
