On February 15th at approximately 10:30 am an officer observed a red Ford Explorer parked within 25 feet of a stop sign at the intersection of 6th and Denver. A traffic stop was initiated on the vehicle and the driver was identified as Bryce Roberts. As officers spoke with Roberts they discovered inconsistencies in his story, Bryce was asked to step out of the vehicle. At that time, officers on scene called for a K-9 unit for the vehicle. The K-9 unit arrived and alerted on the vehicle and a search was conducted. During the course of the search, a .22 caliber handgun was located inside the vehicle along with loose pills classified as dangerous drugs and controlled substances. Roberts was placed under arrest for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of a dangerous drug and possession of controlled substance in penalty group 3..
