Local Man Charged with Breaking Into Car and Stealing Kids’ Allowance

On Thursday, January 5th, at approximately 3:30 am officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department were patrolling the 6000 block of Van Dorn when they observed a white male that they knew to be 18 year old Hunter Stephens.  Officers were advised that Stephens had an outstanding warrant for his arrest for burglary of a vehicle.

The warrant stemmed from a burglary report that was taken on December 27, 2016 in the 4800 block of Pinehurst.  The victim told police that an unknown suspect broke into their 2016 Chevrolet Traverse sometime between December 26th at 10:00 pm and December 27th at 11:00 am.  The victim stated that the suspect stole several envelopes that contained cash from the vehicle.  The victim stated that the envelopes were individually labeled with the names of her children and contained their allowance.

Stephens was placed into custody and transported to the Wichita County jail without incident.
