On Saturday, August 6th at approximately 10:15 am officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department responded to a possible burglary in progress in the 1700 block of Maurine Street at the Quality Inn and Suites.
As officers arrived on scene they observed employees from the business pointing to a black male that was fleeing the scene on a bicycle. Officers were able to catch up to the suspect in the 1400 block of Red Fox and signaled for him to stop. The suspect continued to evade officers. The suspect attempted to ride the bicycle up a steep drainage embankment at which time he fell down. Officers were able to get him into custody without further incident. The suspect was identified as 41 year old Deneal Bobo.
Bobo was found to be in possession of a bag of assorted tools to include a crow bar and bolt cutters.
According to witnesses Bobo made forced entry into multiple storage units on the property. Employees located Bobo in one of the rooms and attempted to hold the door to the room closed until police arrived. It was at this point, according to witnesses, that Bobo used a crow bar to open the door causing injury to one of the employee’s hands.
Bobo was transported to the Wichita County jail where he was charged with three counts of burglary of a building, aggravated assault, and evading.
