Two Arrested for Burglary of a Habitation

On July 29th at approximately 3:00 am officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department observed two white males driving a white Dodge pickup in the 1100 block of Crescent. The males exited the vehicle and walked away on foot. Officers noticed that the bed of the pickup was empty. A short time later officers again observed the males driving away in the pickup only this time the bed of the truck had items in it.

Officers stopped the vehicle in the area of 9th Street and Seymour Highway. The males were identified as 31 year old Jimmy Griffin and 34 year old John Yount. Officers noticed in the back of the pickup a suitcase that had a name tag on it. The name on the tag was different than either of the males. The tag also had an address from the 1100 block of Crescent on it.

Officers mirandized both subjects at which time Griffin admitted to taking items from a residence in the 1100 block of Crescent.

Both subjects were arrested and transported to the Wichita County jail without incident and charged with burglary of a habitation.
