On 05-10-16, at approx 1253 hrs, WFPD officers were dispatched to the Cash Saver, 2720 Southwest Pkwy, in reference to a theft in progress. As the suspects, 36 year old Chris Ferguson and 34 year old Jerry Duncan, were leaving the store in a green Nissan Pathfinder with unpaid for merchandise, the manager tried to stop them. The vehicle, being driven at the time by Ferguson, attempted to run over the manager before driving off. Officers nearby tried to stop the vehicle but the suspects fled and refused to stop. During the brief pursuit that followed, the suspects drove through a chain link fence at Barwise Jr High while trying to get away. It should be noted that between leaving the Cash Saver and being chased by police, Ferguson and Duncan had switched places and Duncan became the driver. The vehicle came to a stop in the Hunan’s parking lot on Maplewood and Ferguson was apprehended immediately and Duncan, who tried to run away on foot, was captured nearby. Both were arrested and transported to jail. Ferguson was charged with Aggravated Robbery and Duncan was charged with Aggravated Robbery, DWI, and Felony Evading Arrest/Detention.
