On Saturday, April 30th, at approximately 8:00 pm Officers with the Wichita Falls Police Department were dispatched to the 1700 block of Enterprise for a possible aggravated assault.

Officers were advised that the Unity Christian Ministry Church was holding a function in the parking lot of the old Dollar General Store at 1701 Enterprise.  A subject later identified as 34 year old Brandon Shiplet had come to the property and according to witnesses vandalized a trailer and attempted to vandalize sound equipment that was being used when he was confronted by some of the church members. Shiplet turned and began to swing two machetes at members of the group striking one of them on the hand causing a deep laceration.  Shiplet then fled the scene.  He was later located by WFPD Officers in the 3500 block of Sheppard Access.  Shiplet was arrested and transported to the Wichita County jail where he was charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault.

The victim that was cut was transported to URHCS by private vehicle where he was treated for his injury and released.
