On February 1, 2016 at approximately 2:00 pm officers observed a tan Saturn fail to signal prior to 100 feet at the intersection of Van Buren and Seymour Hwy. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle for the violation. The driver was identified as Johnathan Foix and the passengers as Chelsea Hoyt and Elizabeth Foix. Johnathan gave consent to a search of the vehicle. During the course of the search, officers located a clear ziploc baggy containing Marijuana. Inside a cooler officers located several flat sleeves of a brown waxy substance believed to be “dab wax” or Tetrahydrocannabinols, which is a Marijuana derivative. The Marijuana weighed approximately 1.5 ounces and the “dab wax” weighed approximately 257 grams. Foix was arrested for possession of Marijuana under 2 ounces in a drug free zone and possession of a substance in penalty group 2 in a drug free zone since the stop was near a public school. Chelsea Hoyt was arrested for possession of Marijuana under 2 ounces and warrants. Elizabeth Foix was also arrested for outstanding warrants and the vehicle was impounded for seizure.
