Suspicious person call leads to drug arrest

edgettOn 10-11-2015, at approximately 1100 a.m. officers  responded to a call of a suspicious person rummaging through a vehicle in the 1900 block of 6th street.  A white male was observed getting into a Tahoe in the northwest corner parking lot of 516 Denver. The male subject matched the description in the call. Officers made contact with the subject who was sweating and appeared nervous.  While on scene, officers noticed that the dashboard was removed from the vehicle and the stereo was missing.  It was suspected that the subject may not have been the owner  and was attempting to steal the vehicle or its contents. The subject consented to a search of the vehicle.  As he stepped out of the vehicle, officers observed 2 small baggies on the driver’s seat.  A third baggie was discovered during the search of the vehicle. The substance in the baggies tested positive for Methamphetamine.  The suspect was identified as Olin Todd Edgett 5-26-78.  Edgett was  transported to jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1, Methamphetamine, under 1 gram.
