Police Respond to Early Morning Shooting


On 06-03-15, at approx 0838 hrs, WFPD officers responded to a shots fired call in the 4800 blk of Johnson Rd. The disturbance involved 2 vehicles both of which had fled the scene in opposite directions prior to officer arrival. Multiple shell casings were found on scene. One of the vehicles, occupied by a male and 2 females, drove to the police department.  While searching for the second vehicle, WFPD patrol officers attempted to stop a vehicle matching the description but that vehicle fled and started throwing items out of the windows. The vehicle was occupied by 2 males and a female. The vehicle came to a stop in the 2700 Blk of Palmetto and the 2 males fled on foot. The female from that vehicle was detained.  Officers are still in the area searching for the males. They were described as a black male wearing a green shirt and a hispanic male with a ponytail and tattoos. It is believed that the black male was in possession of a handgun. These subjects should be considered armed and dangerous.

There were no injuries reported from the gunshots.
