City of Wichita Falls Switching From Code Red to Nixle for Emergency Alerts to Public

The City of Wichita Falls, Wichita Falls Police Department, Wichita Falls Fire Department, and the Emergency Management Department announced today that the Code Red Notification System is being replaced with Nixle.  If you are currently a Nixle subscriber with the WFPD, you will automatically be transferred over to the new combined system and receive all emergency alerts.  If you are not a Nixle subscriber, signing up is easy:  Simply text your 5-digit Wichita Falls Zip Code to 888777.  If you wish to only receive email alerts, please sign up at http://www.nixle.com.  Nixle is 100% FREE!  To read the press release, click here: Nixle Press Release

The WFPD has been using Nixle since 2013.

Code Red will expire completely on June 1, 2015

Texting your zip code to 888777 will get you emergency alerts from the following agencies:  WFPD, WFFD, Emergency Management, and City of Wichita Falls (including weather).
