Marijuana Arrest Leads to Meth

On 02-17-15 at approx. 1446 hrs, WFPD Patrol Officers were dispatched to 4540 Maplewood Ave (Best Western) in reference to a disturbance. Dispatch stated a female was trying to pay for a room with a pre-paid credit card and the card was being denied and the female was causing problems with the clerk. Upon arriving in the area, Officers were advised on the radio that the female had left the hotel.  Officers located a female matching the description sitting in front of Dollar General. The female identified herself as Jainy Elizabeth Reed. While speaking to Reed about the incident at the Best Western, Officers could smell the odor of burnt marijuana emitting from her person. Reed was also acting extremely nervous and kept looking around. Officers also noticed she was having trouble keeping control of her facial movements, which indicated to Officers that she may be under the influence of methamphetamine. Officers found Reed to be in possession of a small plastic baggie that contained marijuana. She was arrested for the crime and transported to jail.  At the jail, it was discovered that Reed also was in possession of methamphetamine.  She is currently being held on both drug charges.
