Burglar Tries to Flee But is Caught and Arrested


On 11-13-14, at approximately 2134 hrs, WFPD Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 1800 Blk of 9th Street in reference to a burglar alarm.  Upon arrival, Officers noticed a smashed out window on the north side of the building.  While Officers were looking into the building, they heard the sound of glass breaking on the west side of the building.  As Officers turned the corner of the building, they observed the suspect running away from the area south bound toward 10th Street.  Officers yelled at the suspect to stop, but he did not and a short foot chase ensued.  Officers apprehended the suspect in the 1800 block of 10th Street. The suspect was identified as Robert Lankster, age 46.  A criminal history check showed Lankster to have multiple convictions for Burglary.  Lankster was arrested and charged with Burglary and Evading Arrest.
