On 09-18-14, at approx 2156 hrs, WFPD Patrol Officers were in the 1300 blk of 32nd Street when they witnessed a drug transaction. A white GMC Yukon was stopped in the middle of the road for several minutes and the transaction was made between some pedestrians and the driver. Officers attempted to affect a traffic stop on the Yukon but the driver, 53 year old Carl Walker, fled and refused to pull over. The pursuit lasted for several minutes. Walker went East and West on Speedway several times and attempted to run several officers off the road. Walker ended up in the 2200 blk of Miramar after his right front tire gave out. He jumped out the driver’s seat and ran North into a yard, throwing a gun in the process. He was tased and taken into custody. The gun was recovered and Walker was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine. Walker was charged with Felony Evading in a Vehicle, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Aggravated Assault on Peace Officer and is currently being held in the Wichita County Jail.
